Christmas in St. Joseph’s

23rd Dec, 2018

We were very busy in St. Joseph’s as we prepared to celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus.  Once again this year our secretary, Irene, created a magical Santa’s Grotto on the corridor which was enjoyed by children and adults alike!  Sylvia decorated the hall beautifully for our Christmas celebrations.  Every class was busy with Christmas art.  Sixth class children made angels from clay and other classes painted Christmas scenes, snowmen, reindeer, etc.  We even used our Maths Eyes to count Santa’s helpers and to examine the shape of the star.

We had our Christmas Carol Service in the hall on Friday, 21st December.  We were delighted to welcome parents from the Parents Association to the service.  Sixth class children accompanied the singing on bells and chimes.  Ms. Marie Casey gave a beautiful rendition of ‘O Holy Night’ backed in harmony by the choir.  We prayed for all families and for those in need at this time.

Our carol service reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas.  We wish all of the children of our school and their families and all of our staff a very happy and peaceful Christmas and every blessing in 2019.
