Parents’ Association

Who we are?

St Joseph’s Convent of Mercy Parents’ Association is a voluntary group made up of parents / guardians of current pupils of St. Joseph’s. Our association promotes the interests of students and facilitates good co-operation and communication between the principal, board of management, teachers, support staff and students to ensure the best possible experience for all within the school community.

What do we do?

The Parents’ Association is involved in many initiatives that bring significant educational development, community development and fun to the school.

We do this by organising the First Communion and Sixth Class Graduation parties. We fund the buses for swimming lessons. We support the school’s science and maths week initiatives. We run the Christmas and Easter raffles. Some members also work with teachers to ensure the smooth distribution and collection of the Oxford Reading Tree books every week. We work closely with Ms Regan HSCL and Ms Murphy to offer the best support to the school at any time.

In order to support these initiatives, a big role of the PA is fundraising. We rely on this funding to continue our work within the school community and we want to give a huge Thank you to all who have supported us. Examples of fundraising events include non-uniform days, raffles, the annual mileathon to name a few.

We are looking forward to the completion of the school building work so we will have the opportunity to run more events.

Get Involved

The association is voluntary and we encourage all parents / guardians to get involved in giving back to the school community. We meet approximately every six weeks and welcome new members. Our AGM is held in September. Feel free to contact the association by email at stjosephsmercyparents@gmail.com or leave a message into the school office.
